A fast track method for experienced advocates

If you are an experienced advocate we now offer the core units by distance learning. It is recommended that advocates attend their specialist unit first so that they understand the principles of portfolio building before undertaking distance learning however this is not always possible. In those cases, the initial assessment and induction process becomes extremely important in clarifying the requirements of the qualification before studying commences. We cannot recommend this method for newly appointed advocates.

Conversion course for IMHA

Now available for the 306 IMHA unit or as a full qualification

The cost of doing the complete Level 3 Independent Advocacy (Independent Mental Health Advocacy) is £1320. We are offering the IMHA conversion for £1070 for the full qualification inclusive, and £320 for just the unit. There are still a few places available on the autumn and spring 2010 core units. The dates are now posted for our Summer 2010 programme. You can also do the Level 3 Certificate in Independent Advocacy (Independent Advocacy Management) by combining these 4 core units with the Management Unit 307 by Distance Learning if you are an experienced Advocacy Manager. You can also do 309 Independent Advocacy with Children and Young People, and 308 Providing Independent Advocacy to Adults. Next IMCA/DOLS conversion is on 15th Sept. Learners can gain credits for individual units or for the complete Certificate. It is suitable for all existing advocates, workers looking for an introductory award who may have just started working in the sector, and professionals who use advocacy skills as part of another role.
